In the industry, the pineapple is the universal symbol for hospitality due to its association with warmth and friendliness. Holding true to that spirit, The School of Resort & Hospitality Management (a four year course) at Florida Gulf Coast University will host Camp Pineapple this June. This fun program is designed to expose high school students, who are interested in pursuing a career in hospitality, to the various aspects of the industry and university life.

We are excited to share that three of our GEC students, Ashley, Aaron, and Julio, have been accepted into the program. Again, we are grateful to our generous donors for not only covering the application fees, but all the costs associated with attending the program.

While taking part in this four day experience, the three juniors will spend two nights in FGCU dorms to get a taste of college life. They will then get to spend one night at a local hotel. During the day, they will participate in various educational activities focused on learning . This will include visits to hospitality businesses and guest speakers from the SWFL market all supervised by FGCU staff.
